Suzanne Pleshette

SuzanneSuzanne Pleshette was an American voice actor, actress of film and television, born January 31 1937 and passed away on January 19, 2008. Pleshette began her theatre career and appeared in films during the late 1950s. In later years, she was an actor of note in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Later, she appeared in a variety of television productions, often in guest roles. She also she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, earning several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on January 31, 1937. Her parents were Jewish as were the descendants of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was an artist and dancer who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was stage director at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
